Under the chairmanship of the Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan Amangali Bisenbayevich and the Adviser on Agriculture, Sanitary and Phytosanitary Affairs for Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan at the French Embassy in Russia, Marie-Agnès AMOS held a working meeting between the Director General of the Republican Veterinary Laboratory of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Elshebaev Temirhan Amantaivich and the Scientific Director for Animal Health and Welfare, Directorate of Strategy and Programs, Research and Reference Expertise Center of the French Agency for Sanitary Safety of Beer Products, Environment and Labor (ANSES) Mr. Eric Cardin.
During the negotiations, the parties discussed the phased development of laboratory cooperation between the Veterinary Laboratory of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the leading veterinary institution of the European Union ANSES. Particular attention was paid to the creation of a sustainable platform of interaction with European reference laboratories specializing in the control of transboundary zoonotic, microbiological and epidemiological threats.
The participants of the meeting reached an understanding on a number of key indicators of joint activity.
It was also agreed to hold a subsequent technical meeting with the participation of the relevant specialists of both sides to develop a roadmap for cooperation at the initial stage.
The meeting was an important step towards strengthening scientific-technical cooperation between Kazakhstan and France in the field of veterinary safety and epidemiological monitoring.
