Republican state enterprise on the right of business .Republican veterinary laboratoryestablished in accordance with the Regulation of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan of 21 November 2009 No 1908.

The main activity of the enterprise is aimed at protecting the population from diseases common to animals and humans by conducting regular diagnostic studies and thus ensuring the country’s epizootic well-being for particularly dangerous animal diseases.

According to Article 11 of the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan About veterinary of 10 July 2002 No 339, the subject of the undertaking’s activity is the exercise of the functions assigned to the state monopoly:

• the diagnosis of particularly dangerous diseases of animals included in the list approved by the authorized body;
• diagnosis of enzootic diseases of animals included in the list approved by the local executive body of the region, city of republican significance, capital.

Also, the activities of the enterprise, technologically related to the functions of the state monopoly, include:

• carrying out laboratory investigations and veterinary-sanitary examinations;
• verification of measuring instruments and certification of test equipment;
• bacteriological studies of the quality of disinfection;
• recycling and disposal of biological waste.

In order to carry out the above functions, the state has set up an extensive network of veterinary laboratories.

The total staff of the enterprise is more than 2 000 persons. The staff of the enterprise is composed of highly qualified specialists.

All laboratories are equipped with modern general laboratory equipment for conducting classical diagnostic research methods. Regional and regional laboratories are additionally equipped with modern equipment for conducting immunofermental analysis, polymerase chain reaction (PCR in standard and real time), bacteriological and virological research.

The enterprise’s regional and regional laboratories are equipped with equipment for food safety research: highly efficient liquid chromatography with mass spectrometric detection, residual veterinary medicines, volt amperometric analyzers, polarographs, spectrometric complexes for determining radionuclides, and much more.

The regional and regional laboratories are accredited in the national accreditation system of the TSO National accreditation center of the Technical Regulation and Metrology Committee of the Ministry of Investments and Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which is a signatory to the agreement ILAC MRA (International Association for Accreditation of Laboratories) on compliance with the requirements of the ST of the Republic of Kazakhstan ISO/MEC 17025 General requirements for the competence of test and calibration laboratories. Accredited test laboratories of the enterprise are entered into the Unified Register of the Customs Union.

Since 2007, the enterprise operates its own metrology service, which is accredited for the right to verify measuring instruments in accordance with GOST ISO/MEC 17025-2009, and also has an accreditation certificate for calibration of measuring instruments.
