On July 24, 2024, the RGP at the PHAV Republican Veterinary Laboratory held a zoom-conference on doping research in equestrian sports with the Doping-control Laboratory Central Research Institute of Veterinary Control of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry of the Republic of Turkey.

Doping substances are analyzed from 2 samples of horse blood and urine. The doping control laboratory operates not only in the country but also abroad. To ensure control of the quality of the analyses, the laboratory participates in certification tests according to the standards established by the Turkish accreditation agency.

The doping-control lab is currently a member of IFIA (International Federation of Racing Organizations).

The cost of one study is $120.

If the delivery time of the sample is 1 day, the temperature of the sample should be 4-60 C, and if the delivery time is 2 days or more, it should be 200 C.

The results of the study will be sent within 7-8 days of sampling.

At the same time, the Republican Veterinary Laboratory is considering the possibility of introducing and conducting such doping studies directly in its laboratories. This area of research is of great interest to the laboratory, as it increases its competence in the field of doping control in equestrian sports.
