The purpose of the program is to:

Improving the professional competencies of veterinary laboratory workers in the field of laboratory diagnostics of parasitic and invasive animal diseases on the basis of normative and methodological requirements.

Final certification:

The final certification is conducted in order to assess the degree to which the students have mastered the theoretical knowledge and practical skills provided for in the qualification programme.

The composition of the final certification:

The theoretical part Testing on the main sections of the program (helminthoses, protozooses, peanuts, entomoses, mycoses, invasive bee diseases, regulatory and legal support of laboratory diagnostics).

Practical part performing a practical task that includes:

• preparation and microscopy of coprological preparations, blood smears, skin scrapes;
• identification of pathogens of parasitic and invasive diseases;
• interpretation of the results of laboratory studies and drafting of the protocol.

Criteria for counting:

• the correctness of laboratory methods;
• the correct identification of parasites;
• compliance with the requirements of biological safety and labour protection;
• the correctness of the lab documentation.

The listener shall be deemed to have passed final certification upon successful completion of all mandatory tasks.

Applicability of the program:

The qualification program can be used:

• in the system of training, re-training and raising the qualifications of RGP personnel for PHI Republican veterinary laboratory;
• the introduction and unification of laboratory methods of diagnosing parasitic and invasive diseases of animals;
• for the purpose of ensuring epizootic well-being, veterinary and sanitary safety and prevention of zoonotic diseases.

The program complies with the current requirements of the veterinary legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan and can be used when organizing courses of qualification at the republican and regional levels.
