During the period from 08.09-20.09.2024 as part of the USAID LHSS project at the Gauteng Institute of Microbiology and Laboratory Medicine Alte Pathologie, Germany undertook a training course on promoting global health safety and promoting dialogue, planning and coordination of One Health within the country’s health system and emergency response structures.
This course was attended by specialists of the relevant Committees of the Ministry of Health, the National Center of Public Health of the Ministry of Health and MSH specialists of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
This course is an international event to support the implementation of the United Health approach to preventing and preparing for future pandemics through enhanced cooperation between sectors.
The course covered the following topics:
Introducing into the quality management system (QM) and international standards;
– The concept of continuous improvement.
– managing inconsistencies in the laboratory;
– Analysis of root causes and corrective measures;
– Requirements for managing documents and records;
– Standard operational procedures: development, implementation and revision;
– Self-assessment tools: checklists;
– Introduction of new diagnostic tools: what should be taken into account?
– The program of technical service of the equipment;
– Management and planning of laboratory reserves;
– Procedure for the annual technical maintenance of biological safety boxes in accordance with EN 12469 standard;
– Practical demonstration: the sequencing lab is a bioinformational analysis of the next generation of sequencing data.
Excursion classes were also organized at the Bavarian Health and Food Safety Administration, SYNLAB Augsburg.
