The meeting took place under the chairmanship of the first Deputy Minister of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan T. Sultanganhaziev.

The Director-General of the Republican Veterinary Laboratory delivered a report on the activities of the laboratory in 2024 on surveillance of antimicrobial resistance, highlighting the importance of monitoring antimicrobial resistance for farm animals.

The meeting discussed plans to improve coordination between various agencies within the framework of the antimicrobial resistance programme. It was emphasized that successful work in this direction requires joint efforts and a constant exchange of information between veterinary and healthcare specialists. Proposals to strengthen control over antimicrobial use and to introduce stricter measures to reduce the resistance of microorganisms, especially in the agricultural and medical sectors, including educational programs for specialists, were also considered.
