On 5 and 6 December 2022 in Moscow, under the auspices of FAO (United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization), a Consultative Meeting on the establishment of a Network of regional laboratories on antimicrobial resistance (MRL) in food and agriculture will be held, in which T. Elshibayev will take part jointly with representatives of Armenia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, the Russian Federation and Tajikistan.
T.Elshibayev delivered a report on Laboratory activities to identify resistance to antimicrobial drugs in food and agriculture sectors of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
In his report, T. Elshibayev noted what work is being done in this direction in the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as what is currently being developed and is in the process of approval of the Roadmap for the implementation of the project Restance (resistance) to antimicrobial drugs in the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2023-2027.
Also in his report, T. Elshibayev outlined plans for the future in the framework of supervision of PPPs in the food sector and agriculture, among which we can note:
• Creating a National system of surveillance of antimicrobial resistance;
• Improving the system of microbiological monitoring of the resistance of microorganisms at all levels of public health and agriculture;
• Improvement of vocational education, development of research programmes;
• Strengthening international cooperation in the field of containment of resistance of pathogens to antimicrobial drugs etc.
