The Kazakh delegation from 3 to 7 October 2022 in Catania, Sicily is taking part in the 30th Conference of the Regional Commission on Europe 88th General Session of the World Assembly of Delegates of the World Organization of Animal Health.
The Kazakh delegation is represented by the Chairman of the Veterinary Control and Supervision Committee of the HICM, A.S. Jakupbayev, Deputy Chairman of the Veterinary Control and Supervision Committee Delegate of the MEB, S.B. Tulegenov, General Director of the RDP Republican Veterinary Laboratory Elshibayev T.A., General Director of the RDP RDP at the PHA National Reference Center for Veterinary Berdiqulov M.A. and other representatives of veterinary medicine .
The conference is attended by representatives of Asian and European countries.
As Dr. Monique Elua, Director General of the World Organization for Animal Health, pointed out: This will be the first day-long conference of the Regional Commission since November 2019. The challenge posed by the COVID-19 pandemic once again highlighted the need to expand scientific knowledge. In particular, to assess risks to human/animal/environmental interaction, the need to strengthen the resilience and capacity of veterinary services to be well prepared to respond to potential future challenges, as well as the need to strengthen existing or conclude new agreements with key partners to be able to work actively and in concert for the common good.
The programme is very rich, providing an excellent opportunity to exchange ideas, thoughts and recommendations. The speakers provided critical information in the wildlife health system, taking into account the national experience of colleagues from European and Central Asian countries, as well as the competence of veterinary services in the modern world. This is a huge experience for our countries in improving the welfare of veterinary medicine under the common concept of Unified Animal Health.
Therefore, the participation of the members of the World Organisation for Animal Health in the Conferences of Regional Commissions is very important and enables them to participate in discussions on topics of regional interest to ensure that all regional contributions are taken into account and receive the most adequate support from the World Organisation for Animal Health.
