During a working visit to the North Kazakhstan Region, Temirkhan Amantayevich Yelshibayev, Director General of the Republican Veterinary Laboratory, visited the regional branch, as well as the veterinary laboratories in Taiynsha District and Magzhan Zhumabayev District.
The Head of State has identified improving the standards of veterinary laboratories as one of the key priorities in strengthening the country’s veterinary safety. In this regard, the Republican Veterinary Laboratory places particular emphasis on the accreditation of district laboratories and the quality of the testing they perform.
During the visit, the Director General reviewed the organization of work at the facilities, the condition of laboratory equipment, and the working conditions of specialists. Discussions with staff covered the progress of accreditation, compliance with management system requirements, internal quality control, and issues requiring resolution as part of the laboratory assessment process.
At the laboratory in Magzhan Zhumabayev District, Temirkhan Yelshibayev met with Gulnur Baideshovna Davletova, an assessor from the National Accreditation Centre, and discussed the progress of the on-site assessment.
“Our task is to ensure consistently high-quality laboratory testing, the timely fulfillment of the state order, and greater efficiency across all areas of activity. It is essential to ensure that laboratories meet accreditation requirements, strengthen the professional competencies of specialists, and steadily expand fee-based services, particularly in veterinary and sanitary examination and food safety,” noted Temirkhan Amantayevich Yelshibayev.
The discussions also covered the development of veterinary and sanitary examination, cooperation with agricultural enterprises and producers, and the equipment needs of laboratory units.
Following the visit, specific tasks were set to address issues identified during the accreditation process and ensure its completion within the established deadlines. The enterprise’s management will continue to oversee this process and monitor the quality of the laboratories’ day-to-day operations.
