From 10 to 14 March, specialists from FAO’s Regional Office in Europe and Central Asia, including Dr. Daniel Beltran-Alcrudo and Dr. Chemu Blasco, met with representatives of veterinary services, discussed existing strategies to combat brucellosis, and visited the regions for consultations with local farmers.

On 12 March, FAO experts visited the laboratories of the Akmoly region, and on 13 March visited the Republican Veterinary Laboratory. During the visits, methods of diagnosis, vaccination and monitoring of the epizootic situation, as well as issues of improving the effectiveness of veterinary control will be considered.

This visit is an important step in developing cooperation with international organizations and introducing advanced practices of combating brucellosis in Kazakhstan.
