Veterinarians are behind bars!
22 veterinary doctors of the RVL are being trained in biosecurity. For specialists of the regional veterinary laboratories, practical classes are being held on a re-training programme.
Students receive knowledge in the following areas:
– legal regulation of veterinary medicine in the field of biological safety and biological protection;
– safety and security of labour;
– providing first aid;
– episoatology;
– microbiology and laboratory diagnostics of particularly dangerous infections of pathogenicity groups I-II.
The programme also addresses issues of field biosecurity, disinfection and safe handling of dangerous pathogens.
At the end of the training course, all specialists will receive a permit to work with particularly dangerous pathogenic group I-II infections.
For 2023, 108 veterinary doctors are scheduled to be trained under this program.
